FAMILY RELATIONSHIPS

FAMILY IS WHERE THE HEART IS...
Our most basic instinct is not for survival but for family. Most of us would give our own life for the survival of a family member, yet we lead our daily life too often as if we take our family for granted....
A typical Indian family as we think of is- A complaining wife - an indifferent husband - a stubborn child...and this is exactly what has been portrayed in the poem "FOR ELKANA" by Nissim Ezekiel..

Living together with all your immediate family members is a tradition of India since ancient time. The concept of extended family started since the Vedic time as the religious scriptures clearly say :"It is the responsibility of the children to look after their parents, grand parents and great grand parents during their old age."

When all the members of a family are bounded by a spirit of oneness and a common goal with the understanding of their respective roles and mutual support, harmony, immense joy and happiness will ensue..
Parents, in a way, spread themselves through their children and also live through them....
Differnce in opinion does exist in every family but at the end of the day they hold each other together and live for each others happiness ......
